The Calendar

Mortar's Calendar brings together everything with a date across your projects — delivery targets, invoice due dates, item arrivals, and any events you add yourself — in one month grid or agenda list.

Where to find it

  • Calendar in the main sidebar shows everything across every project you can see.
  • A project's own Calendar tab shows the same view scoped to just that project.

Both use the same month grid / agenda toggle, and both always render the grid — even for a month with nothing on it, you'll see an empty grid with a hint to add something, not a blank page.

What shows up automatically

  • Project delivery — a project's target delivery date, if it has one.
  • Invoice due dates — a sent invoice's due date; it's tinted differently once it's overdue.
  • Item arrivals — an item's expected delivery date, once it's been ordered (or as soon as a lead time is known, even before ordering). An estimate based on a supplier's typical shipping time (rather than a date you confirmed yourself) is marked (est.) with a dashed outline.
  • Order-by reminders — for an item you haven't ordered yet, the date you'd need to place the order by to still hit the project's delivery target, styled by urgency (overdue, due soon, or comfortable).

Adding your own events

Click Add Event (top-right), or click any empty day in the month grid, to add an event of your own — a site visit, a client meeting, an install day. Every event is:

  • All-day — pick a date, there's no time-of-day field.
  • Attached to one project — from the global Calendar page, you'll pick which one; from a project's own Calendar tab, it's set automatically.
  • Optionally given notes, shown to anyone who can see the event.

Click an event you've added to view it, or to edit or delete it if you're allowed to — the same rule as project shortcuts: the person who added it, or a studio owner/admin. Anyone else sees it read-only. Deleting is immediate and can't be undone.

Delivery dates, invoice due dates, item arrivals, and order-by reminders aren't edited from the calendar itself — they follow the project, invoice, or item they're computed from.

Subscribing from your own calendar app

From Settings → Calendar sync, Mortar gives you a personal link you can subscribe to from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook ("subscribe by URL" / "from URL"), so everything above stays in sync there too without opening Mortar.

  • The link covers every studio you belong to in one feed, and your calendar app refreshes it on its own schedule (typically every hour or so — this isn't a live push).
  • It's a personal, bearer link — anyone who has it can see your calendar, so don't post it anywhere public. If it ever leaks, click Regenerate link; the old one stops working immediately and you'll need to re-add the new one wherever you subscribed.

What your client sees

Nothing. The Calendar — including any event you add, and the subscribe link — is entirely internal to your studio. There's no calendar view anywhere in the client portal.

FAQ

Can a client see delivery dates or events on the calendar? Not from the Calendar itself — it isn't part of the portal at all. A project's delivery date may still be visible elsewhere in the portal depending on what that page shows; the Calendar page and the subscribe feed are studio-only either way.

Why can't I edit or delete someone else's event? Only the studio owner/admin, or whoever added it, can edit or delete an event — everyone else sees it read-only.

Does subscribing update instantly when something changes in Mortar? No — your calendar app polls the link on its own schedule (typically hourly), not the moment something changes in Mortar.
